Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons plans to defy nature and logic this week when he vetoes a bill which he himself proposed and supported during the Re-elect Jim Gibbons Special Session. (RGJ,Sun) Apparently the bill was so poorly vetted by the Gube’s crack staff/re-election committee that they decided that their own idea of forcing every office in [...] How is it that one Gibbons’ idea always reminds us of the all the other nutty Gibbons’ ideas? Take for example Gibbons’ plan to require that 75% of Nevada’s garbage be recycled or used for energy. Sounds all green and hippie and 21st century, don’t it? Why, it sounds like something a liberal might think of: [...] Huh. That pic musta been took before the divorce diet. Yep, all us’n Nevada Republicans are giddy after governor Jim Gibbons’ campaign infomercial Monday night! Why, the way the pundits were buzzin’ afterwards, it looks like Gibbons could win, and not just the primary. Now, it looks like the primaries will be ruled by the more extreme [...] Okay, okay. Not really. Let’s face it. There was absolutely no point to the so-called “state of the state” speech last night save to fill in the campaign-finance gap yawning between Gibbons and his well-financed opponent for the GOP primary, Brian “the quitter” Sandoval. Hey, don’t get all upset at me for the cheap “quitter” shot. It’s [...] Governor Jim Gibbons met the minimal standards of performance originally defined in the gube debates back in 2006 and maintained throughout his first term when giving his deposition down at the court house on Friday. Gibbons after some legal squirming was required to answer questions for four hours from Chrissy Mazzeo’s lawyer as part of [...] U.S. Magistrate Judge Peggy Leen agreed to move the deposition of the Gøøber in the grope-the-waitress suit to the Lloyd George courthouse today. Apparently the Guv’s attorneys didn’t want to do it in the office of Chrissy Mazzeo’s lawyer because there are all sorts of sharp objects in the room. Given that the Gube’s in [...] Woah. Somebody on the crack taxpayer-funded governor’s executive staff/re-elect the gøøber committee finally added me to the guber e-mail list. And what a swell e-mail I got! Why it has all those nifty, get out the core ideas you’d expect from the Governor, like a dead-on-arrival call for vouchers! Why, it even has bullet points! My [Gibbers'] plan [...] Hooray! Dust up between Governor and law-enforcement big-wigs over, trumpets local newspaper insert. (Sun) Yup, law enforcement poobahs simply caved to the Governor’s wasteful and pointless demand for a wasteful and pointless third terrorist tracking "fusion" center in Carson City because, well, I guess they figure if you’re gonna waste state and federal money, you [...] Fearing "political suicide," paranoid Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons kicked caucus goers out of the manse into the cold. (RGJ). Future historians of the state will no doubt fill pages arguing over what the Governor meant by his cryptic remark.
