Even losers like you who’ve never held a bag full of poker chips in your rough [...] Alleged Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons finally got around to signing SB425, the bill which would have made his legal defense slush fund illegal if only it were retroactive. Had the new law, which became effective last Friday, June 15, been on the books earlier this year, Gibbons would have violated it. Gibbons accepted contributions to his legal [...] You all fondly remember Gibbons’ fumbling in the mire of the legal defense slushfund scandal, don’t ya? That’s where putative Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons was taking donations from false front LLC’s of rich rightwing extremists in order to pay for lawyers defending him from sexual assault and bribery charges. Now, I know that the Legislature just passed [...] Dina Titus’ bill that would require lots of reporting about legal defense slush funds, like the one Gibbons was using to cover up all the scandals, passed the Legislature today, according to Sebelius, who also has the most amusing anecdote about [...] Dawn is putting a second mortgage on the house to come up with the money for Uber-Attorney Abbe Lowell, AP says. Why not dip into that legal defense slush fund? Dawn says it can’t be used. That’s because hubby shut it down. Huh.
