Nevada governor Jim Gibbons, or “Moses” as the gube staff/re-elect the guv committee likes to call him, got all biblical yesterday on his 423rd appearance on Fox News: Well, I think you see the — actually, the firestorm of politics in Nevada, no different than the firestorm of politics that’s brewing across the [...] Brian Sandoval’s put out a rather dull radio ad, trying to convince us to elect him Gube. Well, not us so much as Nevada businesses who hate roads and schools and stuff like that. The ad does go on about how Nevada is embarrassed by someone or something never mentioned in the ad by name. Oh, but [...] Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons plans to defy nature and logic this week when he vetoes a bill which he himself proposed and supported during the Re-elect Jim Gibbons Special Session. (RGJ,Sun) Apparently the bill was so poorly vetted by the Gube’s crack staff/re-election committee that they decided that their own idea of forcing every office in the [...] The political world is abuzz over news that Jim Gibbons is within striking distance of Brian Sandoval in the Nevada GOP Goobernatorial primary race. Well, maybe not abuzz. Mildly interested, perhaps. According to a poll funded by Gibbons’ old pals the Retailers Association of Nevada (RAN), Gibbons in within 6 percentage points of Gibbons-wannabe Brian Sandoval: Gibbons: 32% James Tiberius Gibbons will be opening up the official campaign HQ in Carson on Saturday March 6, 5-7pm. It’s at 305 N. Carson Street, Suite 200, Carson City. (INP) No news yet about whether the campaign will be able to pony up for a Vegas site, or even if they’ll want one. The Reno Gazette-Journal insists the Brian Sandoval is, finally, “ramping up” the campaign. (RGJ) Well, he better hurry up. After the Guber’s fire and brimstone infomercial, his startling undermining of the spirit of campaign finance rules, and the endless divorce, Gibbons is on a media roll! He’ll keep his mug in the limelight throughout the special session, [...] Huh. That pic musta been took before the divorce diet. Yep, all us’n Nevada Republicans are giddy after governor Jim Gibbons’ campaign infomercial Monday night! Why, the way the pundits were buzzin’ afterwards, it looks like Gibbons could win, and not just the primary. Now, it looks like the primaries will be ruled by the more extreme ends [...] Governor Jim Gibbons met the minimal standards of performance originally defined in the gube debates back in 2006 and maintained throughout his first term when giving his deposition down at the court house on Friday. Gibbons after some legal squirming was required to answer questions for four hours from Chrissy Mazzeo’s lawyer as part of her [...] I take absolutely no responsibility for today’s pic. If you must blame someone, blame Jon Ralston for coining the term “Sandogibbons” in one of those flash-thingies. “Sandogibbons” is the tortured creation of the Rory Reid campaign designed to make Nevadans think Brian Sandoval is just some kind of Jim Gibbons’ clone, sez Ralston. Well it won’t work, nefarious [...] Ah! What would a gubernatorial race in Nevada be without allegations of wrong-doing and pay-to-play? Yup, it’s time to dust off that Rove-frogmarch pic again, cuz two of the Republican gube-wannabes got caught playing around with their campaign contributions!
