Rory Reid to Hold Town Hall on Education

From a Rory Reid for Gube press release:

Las Vegas, NV –Gubernatorial candidate Rory Reid will host an education town hall meeting this Monday, March 22, at 6:30 p.m. at Walter Bracken Elementary School, 1200 N. 27th Street, Las Vegas.

Rory will lead a panel discussion about the importance of transforming Nevada’s education system to building a 21st Century economy. Joining Rory on the panel will be Guy Hobbs, a leading Nevada economist; Jeff Horn, principal of Green Valley High School; and Lisa Plyman, parent volunteer coordinator at Bracken Elementary.

Also on Monday, Rory will release his plan for education reform in Nevada.

The current state of our education system is unacceptable, and we are losing ground every day. Rory’s plan will fundamentally change how we approach our schools in Nevada, increasing accountability, giving teachers the freedom to teach and principals the tools to lead, while creating vibrant learning environments.

Rory believes that transforming our education system is essential to building a strong economy in Nevada. We need to attract dynamic new businesses to our state – but they won’t come if we do not have quality schools for children and the ability to educate the workforce needed for 21st Century jobs.

A second education town hall will be held in Reno on Tuesday, March 23.

Rory Reid is the only candidate for governor to offer solutions for today and a vision for Nevada’s future success. For more information about Rory’s campaign or to download his plan — “The Virtual Crossroads: Rory Reid’s Vision for the Future of Nevada”– visit RoryReid.com
